This 345,093 SF home of ABTElectronics marks a new generation for this well-known Chicago family retailer. The facility design integrates a retail sales showroom floor, an upscale “Themed Courtyard” area that features custom kitchen and home theater vignettes, with a 263,000 SF distribution warehouse.

A 22,000 SF corporate office and 7,800 SF employee fitness center, accommodates employee functions. Next day delivery of appliance is accomplished by use of 77 shipping docks. Custom car audio system installations can be performed in a shop area served by 4 double drive-in service bays. Power to this up-scaled electronics retailer is provided by an on-site co-generation plant that is only supplemented by public utility.

The project was recently opened to the public in May 2002. Project cost were in the range of $10.5 million.
